Born in Taiwan R.O.C. to Rocket Scientist father and Kindergarten Teacher mother, David Wang (a.k.a. Mochipet) has been tinkering with electronics since he was a child. However, not until he added music to the equation, did something special begin to take shape. Having grown up listening to metal guitar, avant-garde jazz, and mainstream hip-hop, David’s eclectic taste can now be seen in his music – ever changing, and always evolving.

Mr. Blotto takes the Jam band asthetic into areas unfamiliar to the standard Jam Scene. They have been known to cover entire albums by Led Zeppelin and the Who as well as perform entire shows of Country and Reggae. Artists as diverse as the Grateful Dead, the Flaming Lips, Willie Nelson and The Velvet Underground have seen their material interpreted by Mr. Blotto in the 2000+ shows the band has performed in the last 15 years, yet covers only pepper the bands hefty catalog of original material stemming from five studio albums and other unreleased crowd favorites.

With the breakbeat and dubstep scene steadily establishing itself in Chicago, Tolgar Alpagut can be seen growing alongside it. From an early age, Tolgar displayed a love for rhythm and anything with a pounding bassline. Born in Chicago, Tolgar grew up in Istanbul, Turkey, where his musical career began as a drummer in the marching band at school. His experimentation with music continued with the mandolin, the piano and then the guitar.
